According to Express & Star, Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Nuno Santo is unlikely to entertain any approach from Premier League rivals Arsenal.
What’s the word?
Reports from the Daily Mail last week suggested that the Portuguese chef was one of several names on the Gunners’ shortlist to replace Unai Emery but it is believed the Nuno isn’t keen on making the switch to the Emirates stadium.
Wolves saw their 11 game unbeaten run come to an end on Sunday as fellow north London outfit Tottenham Hotspur nabbed all three points courtesy of an injury-time header from Jan Vertonghen.
The 45-year-old guided the club to the Championship title in 2018 before earning qualification into Europe for the first time in nearly 40 years in their maiden season back in the top-flight.
They have since gone on to reach the knockout stages of the Europa League and continue to vie for a place amongst the Premier League’s top six teams.
Major boost
This news comes as a monumental boost to the future of the club. Wolves are where they are today because of the stewardship of Nuno.
He’s come in and totally transformed their fortunes from mid-table strugglers in the second-tier of English football into a team that can genuinely compete for the top four this season.
Such success will always bring about interest from other teams, especially when they are struggling by comparison.
Fosun, the owners of the club, have big ambitions and having Nuno remain at the forefront of it all is only going to benefit the rate at which they achieve their aims.
The Portuguese boss has won 54.26% of his 129 matches in charge of the west Midlands outfit, losing just 29 matches overall, per Transfermarkt.
Whose Line Is It Anyway: Roy Keane, Graeme Souness or Adrian Durham?
