Manchester United caused arguably the biggest shock of the January transfer window when they snatched Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez from their neighbours Manchester City.
Now, it seems that manager Jose Mourinho is already thinking about his summer spending, with Bayern Munich midfielder Arturo Vidal on his radar.
According to the Manchester Evening News, the Chile international has been identified as the ideal figure to sit in the engine room due to Michael Carrick’s impending departure.
The 30-year-old was linked with a switch to Old Trafford before he decided to join Bayern in 2015.
The report claims that the attraction of playing with Chilean teammate Sanchez at club level could persuade Vidal to join the Red Devils.
This season, Vidal has started 13 Bundesliga games and has been in the first XI just three times in the Champions League.
After the reports of Mourinho’s alleged interest in the midfielder emerged, some United fans reacted negatively on Twitter.
