Celtic returned to winning ways on Saturday afternoon as they overcame St Mirren by five goals at home.
Neil Lennon’s men endured a tough evening against Livingston in midweek, drawing 2-2, but they were back at their free-flowing best this weekend to open up their lead at the top of the SPFL to 16 points.
Rangers are yet to play this weekend but it brought the Hoops one step closer to a ninth successive title.
Leigh Griffiths was the hero on the day, bagging a hat-trick. Odsonne Edouard and Callum McGregor were also on the scoresheet.
However, it wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows for the Celtic players as Greg Taylor was lambasted by the supporters.
He wasn’t only berated by fans during the match, but he also took flack prior to kick-off as well.
One thought the 22-year-old should be nowhere near Celtic, a damning indictment on the player’s qualities.
It appears as though Taylor did little to please Celtic supporters once the action got underway. Lennon initially selected him at left-wing back but he didn’t endure a pleasing afternoon with some lamenting his physical abilities.
It was a comical tweet, but one claimed Taylor couldn’t beat an egg, such was his lack of strength.
Others chose to lay into the 22-year-old for his general qualities on the field. Celtic may have thrashed their opponents but he wasn’t one to stand out. Perhaps the scoreline would have been even greater had they had someone else playing on the left?

Some fans didn’t feel as though he offered enough going forward which is far from ideal considering the role of a wing-back. Taylor has made four tackles per outing in the Europa League this term but has only registered one key pass and 0.5 shots per match. Clearly, there is room for improvement.
