Nottingham Forest boss Nuno Espirito Santo has refused to blame Matt Turner directly after another high-profile mistake by the USMNT goalkeeper.

USMNT goalkeeper Turner allowed a tame shot from Gabriel Jesus to sneak between his legs and hand Arsenal the lead against Nottingham Forest on Tuesday in the Premier League. The Gunners went on to win the game 2-1 and ensure Forest are still without a league win in 2024. For Turner, it's the latest mistake in what's been a difficult season for the stopper. Nuno Espirito Santo refused to blame his goalkeeper directly after the defeat and felt the whole team must take responsibility.

He told : "They are not individual errors, they are team errors. It is always about us when we make mistakes. We are responsible for those mistakes. They are things we should avoid. It was a throw-in, and we should have covered the inside and not allow them to go inside. We should have defended better.”

Turner's performances for Forest have been less than convincing this season and have led to speculation the Premier League side could look to sign a new goalkeeper. However, interest in RB Leipzig's Peter Gulacsi appears to have come to nothing and there is precious little time left now with the transfer window due to close on Thursday.

Forest head to Bournemouth next in the Premier League and then face an FA Cup fourth round replay against Bristol City. Turner will be hoping to keep his place in the starting X at the Vitality Stadium but is likely to drop out against Bristol, with Odysseas Vlachodimos set to take over again for cup duties.
